日本丸の船首女神像 「藍青（らんじょう）」
www1.ocn.ne.jp 海王丸の船首、バウスプリットが突き出た下の部分に取り付けられた、笛を持つかれんな女性像。それが海王丸の船首像（フィギュアヘッド）です。 「紺青（こんじょう）」と名付けられたこの船首像は、第２代日本丸建造を機に、「日本丸と海王丸に船首像を贈る運動」が企画され、全国からの募金により作成されたものです。日本で初めて作られた船首像としてデザインも公募され、優しさのうちに凛々しさを秘めた日本女性の姿が表現されています。 姉妹船の日本丸には「藍青（らんじょう）」という、しとやかに合掌している女性像が、海王丸には、藍青の妹として、空を舞う天女をも思わせながら、まだ少女のあどけなさを残した顔立ちの紺青が配されました。 果てしない大海原をゆく海王丸の船首で、航海の安全を守ってくれています。 との事です。 2009年8月15日終戦64年目の日 二代目日本丸です。 二代目海王丸の船首像のほうが妹さんとはしらなかったなあ・・ 有難う御座います。
