Madonna-Hanky panky
"Hanky Panky" was the second and final single by American singer-songwriter Madonna from her soundtrack album I'm Breathless (Music from and Inspired by the film Dick Tracy) and was released on June 30, 1990 by Sire Records. The song caused some controversy because of its innuendo and racy lyrics. During her appearance on The Arsenio Hall Show, Madonna said that the song was "about a spanking but not the kind that you get when you're bad". No official video was made for "Hanky Panky"; instead, a live performance of the song from the Blond Ambition Tour filmed at the SkyDome in Toronto, Canada on May 28, 1990 was used. However, the video doesn't feature the live vocals as recorded that night, but the album version dubbed over the live footage. "Hanky Panky" entered the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart at #40, the week of June 30, 1990, while "Vogue" was slowly descending from the chart. The single was out of the Top 40 by its eighth week, fueled mainly by single sales. This song was the first Madonna single since "Like a Virgin" not to chart in the French official singles chart, this being due in part to the fact that very few copies of the single under its vinyl format were available in stores.
